Rainer Karl Korb, 75, of Haymarket, passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2014 at the Novant Health – Prince William Medical Center.
Born April 3, 1938 in Stuttgart, Germany, he was the son of Karl and Bertha Rogner Korb. On February 12, 1966 in Queens, NY, he married the former Carol Smith, who survives.
Thomas Leonard Hawkins, 77, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away February 27, 2014. His final days were spent surrounded by his family.
Tom was born on October 7, 1936 in Washington, D.C. to Eugene and Elizabeth Hawkins. He married Janice Schnelle, October 14, 1966.
A statewide tornado drill will take place at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Schools, as well as local and state office buildings will recognize the drill as a way to show students and employees what to do in the event of a tornado.

Police said a Honda Civic was making a left turn from Va. 234 onto Minnieville Road when it crossed the path of a GMC Envoy SUV and collided with it. The Civic, with three people inside, immediately caught fire where. A passenger in the rear of the car became trapped, and fire crews had to pull the victim from the car before they pronounced her dead on scene.

A found lottery ticket netted $250,000 for a Manassas man.
According to the Virginia Lottery, Scott Murillo bought the Mega Millions ticket at an Exxon gas station in October and forgot about it. Late last month, Murillo was cleaning out some old papers when he found the ticket and then decided to check the numbers.
