Good morning – Put your walking shoes on to support the Manassas Police Association at their Annual Walkathon on Saturday June 13th.  This fun event is sponsored by the BAPS Charities and begins with a kick-off at 8am and the walk at 9am.  Please visit their website to register for this fun event at: bapscharities.org/walk2015manassas.  This promises to be great fun and for a great cause.

McPike: Students need more critical thinking and problem solving skills, not more standardized tests

Two-time candidate Jeremy McPike seeks the 29th District Senate Seat in Virginia. The district encompasses a wide swath of Prince William County, from Nokesville in the west to Dale City in the east, to include the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

McPike faces two other Democratic opponents in a June 9, 2015 Primary Election — Delegate Michael Futrell and Atiq Qarni.
In 2013, McPike nearly beat out his challenger Delegate Scott Lingamfelter is his bid for the 31st district seat in Dale City and a portion of Fauquier County.

Prince William police still looking for home burglar

On the morning of March 26, Prince William police responded to the residence to investigate.

Prince William police said that the homeowner stated that the burglary occurred overnight. An investigation revealed that there did not appear to be signs of forced entry, and the individual entered the home through an unlocked door.

The kind of leader we need in Richmond

Passion and Commitment. These were the two words that helped shape my military career. After retiring from serving 23 years in the United States Army and serving as the first African American Command Sergeant Major for the Army National Guard, it had always been a childhood dream of mine to become a fireman. 

I joined the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department in December 2011. Once I completed the fire academy, I was assigned to Station 10, Battalion 2 and my Officer in Charge was Jeremy McPike, who is now running for the Democratic nomination in the 29th Virginia Senate district.

Woodbridge man charged with robbery, domestic assault

On the evening of June 2, Prince William police went to a home on East Longview Drive in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic assault.

According to Prince William police, the victim – a 22-year old Woodbridge woman – told police that she and 31-year old Enner Barahona Sandoval were involved in a verbal fight when the incident escalated.
