Sometimes it’s the little thing that can make a big difference in a community.

My wife and I moved into our new home in Prince William County last year.  We reside on Token Forest Drive, and along with several of our neighbors; we were very concerned about the excessive speeding and dangerous conditions in front of our homes.

Good morning  – here’s a huge CHEERS to the Prince William Bar Association for sponsoring the Wills for Veterans program. The Bar Association is looking for vets needing Wills, Power of Attorneys and Medical Directives to come to their information sessions to receive this free service. · Historic Manassas, Inc. is gearing up for two of their signature events. Volunteers are needed for their Bands, Brews & BBQ on September 12th and the Fall Jubilee on October 3rd. These are both super fun community events in Old Town Manassas. Bill Hurley, former Prince William County police officer and father of PGA golfing star Bill Hurley Jr., has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

Hurley made headlines last month after disappearing during the Quicken Loans National gold tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, in Prince William. Hurley’s son was a participant in the tournament.

Responders were called to Islip Loop in Dumfries for a fire in the kitchen of one apartment unit, stated Prince William fire and rescue. According to Prince William fire and rescue, they found that the sprinkler system had been activated and put out the fire.

There was smoke and minor fire damage in the apartment, stated Prince William fire and rescue. No one was injured.

We reported earlier today Democrat Scott Surrovell and Republican Gerald “Jerry” Foreman would meet for a debate in Occoquan later this month. We were wrong, as no debate between the two candidates vying to replace longtime Virginia State Senator Toddy Puller (D-36, Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford), is scheduled.

At first glance, it appeared Surovell had taken it upon himself to schedule a debate himself.
