Meredith worked briefly as a data entry clerk in Technical Services before being promoted to Gainesville Neighborhood Library Supervisor in 1986. Meredith was instrumental in the opening of the fifth neighborhood library which took place on May 16, 1987 and served as its manager for 26 years until December 2013.
