Changes come to ACTS Thrift Store in Dumfries

There's been some changes at the CTS Thrift Store in Dumfries.

More in an email between Potomac Local and ACTS spokeswoman Jessica Bibb:

1. What exactly has changed? Please describe new items, fixtures, signage, pricing, new or difference items not before in the store?

We've made the thrift store more shopper friendly. We've reorganized the shopping experience by categorizing the clothing, housewares, furniture, etc. We've added a purse wall and sorted the accessories as well. Paul Bartosch is the one who complete redesigned and improved the thrift store!

2. Why the changes?

We made the changes to better accommodate the shoppers and the wonderful variety and quality of good we sell. We have a little bit of everything for everybody.  It's also a fun and inexpensive way to experiment with different styles of clothing and jewelry. Thrift stores are the original "one stop shopping" experience to meet different needs. So, it was important for us to make our space more engaging to the community.

3. How many thrift stores does ACTS operate? Changes at one or all stores?

ACTS owns and operates one thrift store. It's extremely important to highlight that 100% of the thrift store revenue goes directly back to ACTS to better serve those in need in our community.
The ACTS Thrift Store is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m.

Inspired by local physicians who were among the nation’s first to adopt the concierge medicine model, Northern Virginia is now a hub for its surging popularity. These leading physicians are redefining the patient experience with same-day appointments, direct availability, unhurried visits, and deeply personalized care:

After almost 40 years in practice, Manassas-based Internist John Cary, MD’s change to concierge medicine enabled focused attention for each individual, and the launch of his innovative diet program for those with type 2 diabetes. “The goal is to promote enough weight loss to reach an acceptable A1C of 6% with no medication,” he explains. “Achieving that can take several months of very close follow up. As I tell my patients, we are in this together.”

Jay Tyroler, MD considers his patients quite literally as family. “I believe there’s nothing more honorable than helping patients when they’re sick, or scared, or feeling vulnerable, and I care for them exactly as I would my loved ones.” Whether for a specialist referral, urgent health issue or ongoing follow up, “My patients know I’m always just a phone call away.”
