Jay Willis Beck Jr was born on November 18, 1953 in Washington D.C. to Jay and Shirley Beck.
Jay passed peacefully at home in Woodbridge, Virginia on June 19, 2016 after many years of battling throat cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne, step daughter, Angie Brassell (husband, Jackie) and two grandchildren, Kennedy and Mason Brassell of Woodbridge, Virginia.
A Brother, Kelly Beck of Missouri, sisters Jean Alderton of New Jersey and Carolyn Thompson of Woodbridge, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Shirley Beck, his grandparents Earl Dean and Estella Beck and David and Blanch Shaffer, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
There will be a visitation at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home 13318 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Friday, June 24th from 5-7PM followed by a service at 7PM. Jay loved Jimmy Buffet music and anything having to do with life as a cowboy.
In his honor, please wear either a Hawaiian type shirt or something western. Cowboy hats are encouraged as are flip flops.
