Vehicles, building struck at Walmart near Dumfries
Police said a Walmart employee was shot at with a BB gun by a shoplifter trying to make a fast getaway.

Attempted Malicious Wounding – On December 2nd at 2:39PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 17041 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shoplifting. Officers arrived at the business and were informed by an employee with loss prevention that an unknown man entered the store, took various items and attempted to leave the store without paying. As the employee went to detain the man, the man fled on foot. As the suspect was fleeing, he stopped and fired several BB rounds towards the employee. Several vehicles and the building were stuck, no injuries or significant damage were reported. The suspect continue to flee towards Wayside Dr. Officers searched the area and did not locate the suspect.

Black male, between 18 & 25 years of age, 5’9”, 150lbs with a medium build, short black hair and beard
Last seen wearing a black fleece style jacket and gray sweatpants
