Some business owners in Stafford County will have a chance to sell their ideas during “pitch night” in Fredericksburg.

With the launch of the first RIoT Accelerator Program in Virginia in April, graduates from the inaugural cohort are ready to take the stage.

Business startups will give pitches, and business founders will be telling their stories and sharing about their business growth on the market square outside the museum, under the stars.

The event will be Wednesday, August 24, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, 909 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg.

There will be plenty of food, drinks, and networking, according to RIoT. Participants are encouraged to register online.

In January, GO Virginia awarded a $75,000 grant to The Stafford County Economic Development Authority to implement an entrepreneur development program while leveraging Stafford’s cyber and information technology business community as Stafford has been identified as a “testbed” for smart city technologies.

Since the inception of the RIoT in 2014, startups RIoT has worked with have created 500+ jobs and raised over $325 million in capital funding.
