Dumfries residents will soon be the new owners of the former Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad building.
The town council agreed to purchase the vacant building at 3800 Graham Park Road for $1.7 million. Still owned by the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad, Inc., the building is assessed for only $1.6 million, according to the county's property assessor.
The town has until June 9 to review the property to make sure it's up to snuff, according to the purchase agreement dated April 25. It's unclear what the town will do with the property, although some ideas were thrown around during a May 4 meeting of the Town Council, to include:
