Prince William police to hold blood drive

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – The Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) is encouraging people to give blood at their blood drive on May 28.

May is Trauma Awareness Month, and the American Red Cross is calling for blood donations to ensure blood is available during emergencies when every second matters.

One car crash victim can need as much as 100 units of blood. That’s why the Police Department’s CPU is hosting this blood drive.

This event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Paul T. White Jr. Western District Station, 8900 Freedom Center Blvd., Manassas (20110) from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To sign up, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter “Prince William Police CPU” to schedule an appointment. Your blood donation can help ensure that our local trauma centers are prepared the moment an injured patient arrives.
