DUMFRIES — Springtime means street paving in Dumfries.
Every spring the Dumfries Public Works Department begins its annual paving of streets throughout the town.
While there are no anticipated street closures, there will be interruptions to the regular flow of traffic in the areas where milling and paving will be taking place. The affected areas will be marked with signs to alert motorists to traffic-pattern changes, said town spokeswoman Dawn Hobgood.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution when traveling around crews working along the roadway.
Paving will be completed on the following roads:
- Washington Street (between Cameron Street and Duke Street intersections)
- Duke Street (from Cameron Street to the dead end)
- Cameron Street (between Prince Street and Washington Street)
- Prince Street (entire street)
The project is expected to be completed April 19.
