STAFFORD – (Press Release) On Friday, November 9, 2018, several SCPS elementary schools will host Veterans Day ceremonies.
Widewater Elementary is hosting their first Veterans Day flag ceremony on the front lawn at 9:30 a.m. Past and present service members will dress in uniform. Students and families are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue in show of support. The Widewater PTO is selling flags to wave during the ceremony for $1.00 each. Conway Elementary School plans a parade and luncheon, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Veterans from all branches are included, and a keynote speaker and special chorus concert will precede lunch. Conway Elementary School is located at 105 Primmer House Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
Garrisonville Elementary School is thanking service members with a chorus concert and video performance of patriotic songs during scheduled lunch times. Lunch times run from 11:00 a.m. until 12:40 p.m. Garrisonville Elementary School is located at 100 Wood Drive, Stafford, VA 22556.
Ferry Farm Elementary salutes veterans with a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and a special performance by students in the first grade. A parade featuring the veterans will take place in the school hallways before a flag raising ceremony outside. Ferry Farm Elementary School is located at 20 Pendleton Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
