Frances May Abell, age 87, a longtime resident of Woodbridge VA, passed away Wednesday July 26, 2017 at Potomac Place in Woodbridge. She was born in Washington DC on February 24, 1930 to the late Joseph and Fannie Mock.
She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years Stanley L. Abell. Fran loved people. She was a waitress for more than 30 years and a caregiver to her husband, who had been stricken with Parkinson’s disease prior to his death in 2009. She was an avid sports fan and particularly loved watching her grandsons play baseball. She also loved music and dancing. She was a hard working dedicated wife and mother, always putting others first.
She is survived by her sister Agnes Petrosky and brother Thomas Mock, her 6 children and their spouses: Gail and Steven Reel, Edward and Janet Abell, Jo-Ann and Tom Beckner, Carol and Chuck Staats, Nancy and Arvel Edens, Sherry and David Gobel, 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial service and celebration of life at 11 AM on Saturday, August 5th at Mountcastle Turch Life Celebration Home, located at 4143 Dale Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22193.
Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
