In a separate case, a 16-year-old girl was arrested in Gainesville after allegedly assaulting a family member and then grabbing an officer’s holstered firearm during a domestic dispute.
Prince William County officers also investigated a road rage incident in which a driver reportedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm and arrested a man who shattered apartment windows and entered a residence in Woodbridge. Stafford County deputies arrested a Fredericksburg woman on DUI charges and responded to a collections agency scam report.

Man Dies After Medical Emergency in Woodbridge
On August 5 at 8:07 p.m., officers responded to the area of Oakwood Drive and Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge for a reported crash. A 75-year-old man driving a 2023 Toyota 4Runner was traveling westbound on Old Bridge Road approaching Oakwood Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole at very low speed, causing minor damage. Investigators believe the driver suffered a medical emergency and became unconscious just before the vehicle left the road. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died. The crash does not appear to have contributed to the death, and there are no signs of foul play. The investigation is ongoing.
Juvenile Arrested After Attempting to Disarm Officer
On August 6 at 12:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7800 block of Crescent Park Drive in Gainesville for a domestic dispute. One of the parties, a 16-year-old female juvenile of Gainesville, was determined to have assaulted a family member and was detained. While in custody, she became noncompliant and grabbed the holstered firearm of one of the officers. The firearm was never removed from the holster, and she was secured without further incident. No injuries were reported. She was charged with attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, domestic assault and battery, and obstruction. She was held at the Juvenile Detention Center. A court date is pending.
Road Rage Incident Involves Reported Firearm Brandishing
On August 5 at 4:59 p.m., officers responded to the area of Richmond Highway and Occoquan Road in Woodbridge for a road rage report. A 25-year-old man driving from Fairfax County became involved in an encounter with the driver of a blue, older-model vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic. The victim pulled into a service station along Occoquan Road. The other driver made a U-turn into an adjacent parking lot and raised his arm while holding a dark-colored object believed to be a firearm. The parties separated. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, possibly in his 30s.
Man Arrested After Unlawful Entry at Woodbridge Apartments
On August 5 at 7:45 p.m., officers responded to the Dominion Lake Ridge Apartments in the 3200 block of Ridge View Court in Woodbridge for a burglary report. An unknown man shattered windows on two apartments before entering one through an unlocked front door. The resident yelled at him, and he left on foot. Officers located the man, who was intoxicated. No property was reported missing. Zackary Lee Plumley, 33, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful entry, two counts of destruction of property, and one count of public intoxication. Bond was set at $2,500. A court date is pending.

Woman Arrested for DUI on Richmond Highway
On August 5 at 11:20 p.m., a deputy observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Richmond Highway and conducted a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and dilated pupils. Field sobriety tests were declined. Several packages of marijuana were found inside the vehicle. Alejandra Gomez Gomez, 23, of Fredericksburg, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and a traffic lane violation. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond. The marijuana was submitted as evidence.
Collections Agency Scam Reported
On August 5 at 1:21 p.m., a deputy responded to a fraud report on Goose Pond Road. The victim received a letter in the mail from a collections agency claiming money was owed. The victim recognized it as a scam and had not suffered any monetary loss. The victim was advised to notify the Federal Trade Commission.
