
A shooting in downtown Fredericksburg left two people hospitalized Wednesday night near Maury Stadium. Police responded around 7:54 p.m. to the 800 block of William Street after reports of gunfire.
Officers found one victim at the scene and discovered a second during their investigation. Both are recovering in stable condition. Police are still searching for a suspect described as a Black male wearing no shirt and gray joggers. Early findings suggest this was an isolated incident involving people who knew each other.

On November 13, 2025, at 7:54 p.m., the E-911 Center received a report of shots fired in the 800 block of William Street. Police and EMS responded to the scene and located one shooting victim, providing on-scene medical care. A second shooting victim was identified during the investigation. Both individuals were hospitalized for treatment and are currently in stable condition.Detectives are still trying to identify an involved party described as a black male wearing no shirt and gray joggers. No additional description is available at this time. Preliminary findings indicate this was an isolated incident, and parties involved were known to one another.
