GAINESVILLE, Va. – Shotted Coffee, a Saudi-inspired café concept, has opened at Virginia Gateway, offering more than just a caffeine boost at the busy intersection of Route 29 and Linton Hall Road.
Founded by a team inspired by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, Shotted blends cultural tradition with modern coffeehouse style. The café’s owners say they aim to take the typical coffee shop experience “to the next level” in the U.S. market, while keeping the atmosphere family-friendly, smoke-free, and alcohol-free — an alternative to the nightlife scene.
The menu spans iced and warm lattes in flavors like pistachio, rose, red velvet, and Spanish, along with Saudi coffee served in traditional fashion with dates. Sweet options range from saffron milk cake and basbosa to donuts, brownies, cheesecake, and soft-serve ice cream. Guests can also choose from classics like cappuccinos, cortados, flat whites, matcha lattes, and karak chai.
Inside, visitors can listen to traditional Saudi music and gather with friends in a space designed for conversation and community. Shotted also plans annual celebrations for Saudi National Day, Founding Day, and Flag Day.
The café’s culinary team has earned recognition beyond the DMV, placing in the top three among more than 40 embassies in the 2024 Annual Embassy Chef Challenge with authentic Saudi cuisine. They also produced Taste of Saudi, a book endorsed by HRH Princess Reema Bint Bandar, showcasing Saudi chefs and entrepreneurs.
The new Gainesville café joins three other Northern Virginia locations — at Tysons Corner Center, Tysons Galleria, and Dulles Town Center — as Shotted continues to expand its reach. Virginia Gateway’s walkable, open-air design offers a fitting backdrop for the company’s mission to use coffee and hospitality to “build bridges and foster global unity.”
