Scheduled Lane Closures for Route 28 in Centreville

Route 28 North in Centreville will have multiple lane closures from Saturday evening, Nov. 9, through Sunday evening, Nov. 10, for underground pipe repairs as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Three left lanes will close starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, leaving two right lanes open. By 11 a.m. Sunday, an additional lane will reopen, allowing three lanes of traffic. The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will also be limited to a single lane.

Extended Lanes Closures Planned for Route 28 North in Centreville Saturday Evening through Sunday Evening, November 9-10

Multiple lanes will be closed on Route 28 North between I-66 and Westfields Boulevard from Saturday evening, Nov. 9, through Sunday evening, Nov. 10, for underground pipe repair. At least two lanes will remain open during this work. Drivers should anticipate delays and consider alternate routes. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, three left lanes of Route 28 North will be closed from just north of I-66 and continuing for about one mile. Two right travel lanes will remain open during this time.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, one lane will reopen, making three travel lanes available.
The ramp from I-66 East and the 66 Express Lanes East to Route 28 North will be reduced to a single travel lane during this work.

All lanes are anticipated to reopen by 7 p.m. Sunday.
All work is weather and schedule dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.
