SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt Opens in Manassas with Ribbon Cutting

Lulu and Jay Trotter, owners of SweetFrog at Hastings Marketplace in Manassas.

SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt, located at 10077 Market Circle in Manassas, is now open for business. The grand opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, welcoming the community to enjoy a variety of frozen yogurt options.

Lulu Trotter, the owner of SweetFrog, shared her journey to opening the new location. “My husband and I initially were going to buy the Ashburn location, but we ended up driving down to see the Manassas one and just fell in love. So we bought it.”

When asked what drew them to the Manassas location, Trotter mentioned the overall alignment of factors that made it the right choice. “It was everything. It’s the universe telling you, this is it. We have a great location right next to American Drengr Krav Maga. A lot of times the kids will get done with their self-defense class and they’ll just come on over and have a healthy treat. We have an amazing staff.”

The SweetFrog team in Manassas includes both long-time and new employees. “We retained two staff members who have been here since our first day. Outside of that, we have hired everybody else.”

Trotter discussed her motivation for choosing the sweetFrog franchise. “SweetFrog is a very healthy alternative to wanting a treat. We have dairy-free options, vegan options, and sugar-free options for people who might have diabetes or something like that.”

There are also tons of various toppings, from fruits and Oreo bits to gummy candy, should you want to add some extra sugar.

The Trotters, married for two years and together for nearly eight, are dedicated to fostering a community-centric environment at SweetFrog. “Our store is very community-based. Our staff treat each other like family. We’ve hosted a couple of spirit nights for different schools. We want to integrate more within the community.”

For those looking to try something new, Trotter recommends the Horchata flavor. “It’s a Hispanic delicacy. It tastes a little bit like cinnamon toast crunch. It’s really delicious. We’re one of the only SweetFrog locations that has it.”
