Stafford County Administrator Frederick Presley will resign on April 22 after two years on the job.
Citing the need to be closer to aging family members in New England, Presley thanked the community for allowing him to serve in the chief executive role. Before being appointed county administrator, Presley worked for three years as a deputy under former administrator Tom Foley.
