Hoyt W. Randolph

Hoyt W. Randolph, Jr. (Hobie to those that knew him) died peacefully on the morning of January 4, 2021 in Front Royal, Virginia after a diagnosis of cancer at the age of 68.

Hobie was born to Hoyt and June Randolph in Washington, DC and grew up in Occoquan, Virginia on the shores of the Occoquan River.   He was a 1970 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School and attended Old Dominion University.  He helped design and supervise the forming of oil tanker hulls.   He was an excellent carpenter and worked on the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC and was a heavy equipment operator.  He was also renowned for his excellent cooking.  His greatest achievements though were his son, Ryan and his daughter, Sarah.

Hobie is preceded in death by his father, Hoyt W. Randolph, and his son, Ryan A. Randolph, and his niece, Hannah S. Randolph.  He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Randolph (Tyler Manson), his grandchildren, Minetta Randolph, Jericho Manson, and Eliza Manson, His mother, June Randolph, his brother, Marshall Randolph (Karen McLaughlin), his sister, Elizabeth Coulson (Patrick), his nieces, Frankie Coulson (Jason Merritt), Olivia Coulson, and Ava Coulson, his nephews, Jesse Sullivan, Lee Sullivan (Sam Cross), and Connor Foxwell (Anna Stubbs).

A private graveside service will be held on January 11, 2021 with burial at Dumfries Cemetery, Dumfries, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers please consider planting a berry plant in memory of Hobie.
