If you can donate them or make them, Stafford County officials are pleading with the public for N95 protective masks.
Businesses that are not using them are being asked to donate them, and sewists are being asked to make protective masks.
“We are asking for the public’s health in securing masks to help our fireman, deputies and community health partners. They anticipate a shortfall of masks until the supply chain catches up,” said Chairman of the Stafford Board of Supervisors Meg Bohmke, Falmouth District. “If you are a business and have masks, you are not using, or if you are a seamstress who can sew masks, we are asking for you to consider donating during this critical time.”
Donations of N95 masks are being accepted at the central warehouse established by Stafford at the Fire and Rescue Training Center, located at 1326 Courthouse Road in Stafford.
Donations may be delivered between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may also contact Team Rubicon — a private firm working with Stafford County to procure these masks — who will come to you to pick up the masks. Those requesting a pickup may [email protected].
Officials with Mary Washington Healthcare echoed the need for N95 masks. At least three coronavirus patients have been treated at the hospital in Fredericksburg.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude by everyone offering to help with the mask shortage affecting health systems across the country. We are evaluating all options and will let you know early next week what you can do to help. Crafters, this will be your time to shine! ?
