STAFFORD — The Stafford County Student Film Festival will return this year.
Now in its fifth year, the event showcases student-made films on the big screen. Middle and high school students create and submit original films for the festival. This year’s feature is “Soul Reaper.”
Past festival entries are accredited by the industry standard, IMDB, and are available to watch on Amazon Prime.
Students that participate in film-making learn 21st-century skills including writing, acting, editing, directing, cinematography, and may also include cosmetology art, set design, and sound engineering.
Stafford County Public Schools is the only school division in Virginia to hold this type of festival, according to a schools spokeswoman.
The festival will be held Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Forge High School, 550 Courthouse Road in Stafford.
