Carmello’s a favorite with OpenTable diners

MANASSAS — A favorite restaurant in Manassas has earned another award for its wall of fame.

Carmello’s was awarded OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice and Tastemaker Award for Romantic and Best Italian restaurant, respectively.

“We’re grateful for all of our OpenTable diners who nominated us—we know Carmello’s has been a special place for so many throughout its 30 years,” said Alice Pires, owner of Carmello’s and Monza, both in Downtown Manassas.

OpenTable receives nominations from restaurant diners.

Carmello’s of Old Town Manassas, Va. was established in 1987 and is owned by Portuguese immigrant, Alice Pires of Manassas. The family-owned restaurant offers fine dining, serving contemporary American cuisine with Portuguese and Mediterranean influence.

In 2011, its sister restaurant, Monza, was created, providing bistro fare.

Carmello’s earned the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator magazine for nine consecutive years and has been voted best fine dining restaurant by Prince William Today for 2013.

Their seasonal menus feature fresh produce from the restaurant’s garden. Carmello’s and Monza are located at 9108 Center Street.
