News ‘Millions of Ash Trees in our region are dead or dying due to damage sustained from emerald ash borers’ By Potomac Local News Published April 30, 2019 at 9:46AM View this post on Instagram Millions of Ash Trees in our region are dead or dying due to damage sustained from emerald ash borers. The invasive species creates holes, directly affecting the vessels on ash trees that bring moisture to branches. Affected ash trees dry out quickly and become extremely fragile and dangerous. As a result, dead or dying ash trees can fall or break, endanger people, and damage property. NOVEC crews are cutting down hazardous ash trees located in NOVEC’s right-of-way areas. Rick Carpenter, manager of NOVEC’s vegetation management department, encourages property owners to use qualified contractors to safely remove dead trees beyond NOVEC’s right-of-way corridors to prevent damage to houses, vehicles, or people. #emeraldashborer #ashtrees #vegetationmanagement #novec A post shared by NOVEC (@novec_electric) on Apr 30, 2019 at 4:51am PDT Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window) Author Potomac Local News View all posts
