Children will ride free on Virginia Railway Express for “Take our Daughters and Sons To Work Day.”
Children between the ages of 11 and 18 years old will free on Thursday, April 25 when accompanied by a paying adult. Children 10 and under can ride free every day.
“VRE has long supported Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” said Doug Allen, the railroad’s chief executive officer. “Not only does this event allow parents to show their kids what they do at work but how they get there. We hope VRE riders will bring their children onboard and let them see how convenient and comfortable our commuter rail service is.”
VRE officials encourage passengers to review the railroad’s safety guide on its website prior to bringing their children on board.
