NORTH STAFFORD — Two people were found dead in North Stafford on Thursday.
The county’s sheriff’s office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred about 12:30 p.m. at a house on Brighton Way, near Patawomeck Park.
A family member reported finding the body of a woman inside the house. When authorities arrived, , deputies also found the body of a man.
Both were middle-aged. Their names will not be released until next of kin have been notified, said Stafford sheriff’s office spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo.
Detectives believe the incident is a murder-suicide, she adds.
Preliminary investigations revealed gunshot wounds to the bodies of both subjects. An investigation is ongoing.
