STAFFORD – (Press Release) Brooke Point High School Inspire Virginia student officers will host a Virginia Senior Rally on Tuesday, April 9, at 8 a.m. The group has organized a voter registration rally at BPHS to address the importance of registering to vote and participating in elections.
The goal of the group is to promote citizenship and engagement among the graduating class of 2019. Student leaders trained by Inspire Virginia representatives to register new voters will lead the effort.
The Governor of Virginia challenges high schools to participate and register 65% of voting age seniors. Students who register at the rally will assist Brooke Point in the Governor’s Challenge in high school registration.
The challenge awards the school with the highest percentage of registered voting-age students, and recognizes any school with a 65 percent registration rate. This rally will assist the school in achieving their goal of 100 percent registration.
