From the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission:
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is pleased to again participate in Try Transit Week and Car Free Day – two events that encourage people to find alternatives to driving solo and award prizes for pledging to do so!
The eighth annual Try Transit Week will be held September 19-23. The week-long educational event is designed to reduce the use of single-occupancy vehicles in favor of buses, trains, vanpools and ferries. Try Transit Week is organized by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT).
Even if you already use transit or other modes of travel, you can pledge to take part in the events and be entered into drawings to win prizes, including the grand prize of a pair of round-trip tickets aboard Amtrak’s Northeast Regional. PRTC will be giving away three SmarTrip cards already pre-loaded with $50 or $25 for your next ride!
For more information and to pledge, visit TryTransitWeek.org and CarFreeMetroDC.org.
