From Prince William police:
Residential Burglary – On August 22 at 10:52AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5200 block of Meckon Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm activation. As officers were enroute, a witness reported to police that an unknown man was attempting to break into the residence through a rear door with a shovel.
The suspect was able to open the door but did not make entry due to being confronted by a large dog. The suspect then fled the area prior to officers arriving. A responding officer located and detained the accused a short time later without incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Eric Christian COLEMAN, 21, of 5008 Lambsgate Ln in Woodbridge
Charged with burglary and destruction of property
