From Prince William County Fire Marshal’s office:
On July 13, 2016 at 3:02 PM, Fire Marshals responded to the 15200 block of Grist Mill Terrace in Woodbridge regarding an electrical hazard complaint in which a meter box had been jumped. Upon further assessment by Fire and Rescue, it was discovered that the meter circuit had been jumped by using two 4-gauge copper wires with welds holding it in place. This created a very dangerous situation with the potential of risk to nearby occupants. Further investigation revealed the suspect, John Anthony McClain.
On Thursday, July 14, Fire Marshals apprehended the suspect at his residence and he was placed under arrest.
Arrested on July 14:
Jason Anthony MCCLAIN, 40 years old, of 15286 Grist Mill Terrace in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Charged with 1 count of obstructing or injuring canal, railroad, power line, etc.,(Class 4 Felony) and 1 count of violation of the Virginia Fire Prevention Code. (Class 1 Misdemeanor)
Court Date: July 21, 2016 Bond: Released on $3500 Unsecured Bond
