Don’t be alarmed if you see smoke in the area of Interstate 66 and Route 15 in Haymarket this weekend.

On Friday, July 15, 2016, Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue First Battalion Companies will begin training in acquired structures located on James Madison Highway in Haymarket.
The three structures were made available to the Fire Department by VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) who is currently working on the Interstate 66 expansion project.
Fire Department units will be using synthetic smoke to create a realistic training environment for firefighters to practice search, rescue, ventilation, and hose line operations. Fire Department training will conclude on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
