Police identified the man killed Tuesday inside a freezer in the Rienhart Foodservice warehouse on Balls Ford Road near Manassas.

The victim has been identified as Andy Yobani YOYA-RUBIO, 21, of Manassas Park
Investigators continue to look into the cause of the collapse of a 30-foot tall storage shelf that killed Yoya-Rubio and injured five others.

Death Investigation – On March 29 at 3:40PM, officers responded to the Reinhart Food Services warehouse located at 11777 Balls Ford Rd in Manassas (20109) to assist the Department of Fire and Rescue with an interior structure collapse. The preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that an interior rack system used to store food product collapsed on several employees. One of those employees, identified as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple other employees were injured and transported to various area hospitals for treatment. The deceased victim will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.The exact cause of the rack system’s collapse is not known at this time. This incident is being jointly investigated by the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit, the Department of Fire and Rescue and investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The identity of the deceased will be released once positive identification is confirmed and next of kin notified. The investigation continues.

One person was killed today in a collapse inside a food service distribution center near Manassas.
Boxes fell on workers inside the plant on Balls Ford Road. A total of five people were injured, two seriously.
Two victims were flown to a local hospital, and three were taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Boxes fell onto workers inside a freezer at the food service distribution center about 3:30 p.m. At least 20 workers were seen helping to remove boxes from inside a freezer to allow officials to search for victims.
