The driver of an SUV died today after his vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.
The incident happened this morning on Spriggs Road in Woodbridge.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 28 at 10:53AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 14200 block of Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on Spriggs Rd in the above area when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle sideswiped the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado who was also traveling in a southbound lane. The Tahoe then veered off the road and struck a tree. The driver of the Tahoe was transported to an area hospital where he died a short time later.
The other driver was not injured.
It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol, or drugs were a factor. The investigation continues.
