Fire raged at a 2-story home on Dacey Lane in Stafford County.
Flames shot through the roof of the home at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday. Fire crews arrived on the scene and began attacking from the blaze.
No one was inside the home when the fire broke out, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle. Some fire firefighters appeared to be treated for minor injuries on the scene.
Here’s the official press release about the fire
Fire crews extended 2,500 feet of hose from the nearest fire hydrant on Mountain View Road.
The hydrant was a help to fire crews, said Doyle. The other option for fire crews where hydrants are not available is to truck water to the scene of a fire.
The massive response prompted multiple fire and rescue apparatus to respond to the scene. A portion of Mountain View Road was closed during the fire response.
Billowing smoke could be seen from five miles away on Route 610.
