One of two suspects in a shots fired case at Georgetown South in Manassas was arrested last night at Potomac Mills mall.

The investigation continues into the Aspen Place incident that happened yesterday at 1:30 p.m. One suspect, Manuel Gonzalez, was apprehended last evening around 9:30 p.m. and has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and discharge of a firearm in public.
Manassas City Police are still looking for a second suspect. The investigation has revealed that the incident was related to a drug deal and shots were fired into the suspects’ house as well. Police are still working on recovering evidence from the home at 9605 Aspen Place and other suspects have not been identified at this time.

Through a joint investigation with the Northern Virginia Gang task force, ATF, and the Manassas City Police Department arrest warrants were issued for Manuel Gonzalez for possession of a firearm by a felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and discharge of a firearm in public.
Members from this joint investigative team arrested Gonzalez in Prince William County near Potomac Mills Mall at approximately 8:30 p.m. While the arrest of Gonzalez was occurring, members from the ATF, the Virginia State Police and Manassas City Police executed a search warrant at 9605 Aspen Place to recover evidence related to this incident.

Police are on the scene of a report of shots fired in Georgetown South in Manassas.
States city spokeswoman Patty Prince:
On March 3, 2016 at approximately 1:30 pm Manassas City Police were called to the scene of shots fired in the 9600 block of Aspen Place. Two Hispanic males were observed firing at a passing vehicle. Suspects were then seen running into 9605 Aspen Place.
An anonymous source has told police that there may be high powered rifles and automatic weapons in the home.
Police have recovered bullets and several vehicles have sustained damage from the gunfire.
School children on the north side of Georgetown South Community are being held in school until the situation is clear for them to travel home.
