The driver of a car on Rolling Brook Road said he stopped to help another driver whose car was on fire.
Andrew Pratt sent Potomac Local this video a video of flames that broke out under the hood of a sedan. Fire crews rolled up a short time later to douse the blaze, the video showed.
Here’s Pratt’s account of what happened:
I was driving down rolling brook when I saw a car with smoke coming from the front. I turned around to see if I could help. The owner of the car was pulling some valuables out and tossing them to the ground.
I popped the hood thinking I might be able to extinguish the fire with my bottle of water before it got too bad. When I opened the hood flames rolled out and despite my efforts with a bottle of water the flames rolled on and it was evident that there wasn’t much I could do so I jumped in my truck and got a safe distance away.
