Manassas Park declares snow emergency, restricts parking

A snow emergency has been declared in Manassas Park.

Starting 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, drivers cannot park their vehicles along snow emergency routes.

The parking restriction will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, according to a statement from City Manager Kimberly Alexander.

Snow emergency routes allow traffic to be expedited along those streets during winter storms, according to the statement.

About a foot of snow is expected to fall Friday through Sunday.
