2 rescued from town house fire on Covington Place

An adult and child were rescued from a burning home.

This past Monday, a town home on Covington Place near Manassas caught fire due to a small appliance overheating.

When fire and rescue units arrived on scene, smoke billowed was surging from the front of the home. Firefighters saw fire in a second- floor bedroom.

According to a press release report, one adult and child were safely extracted from the home. They were taken to a local medical facility for non-life threatening injuries and further evaluation.

The home  sustained an estimated $20,000 in initial damages.

The family of eight, plus three pets received is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
