Habitat for Humanity Restore set to open in Manassas

Habitat for Humanity Prince William is on a mission to restock the shelves of its restore for the grand opening of its newer, larger location in Manassas.

The non-profit is seeking donations of gently used furniture, appliances, books, cabinetry, windows, hardware, lumber, tools, flooring, lighting, home décor and more. Donors can take a tax deduction for what they give to the charity.

The new Habitat for Humanity ‘Restore’ will be located inside an old Food Lion store 10159 Hastings Drive in Manassas, at the corner of Dumfries Road. The new store is expected to open Saturday, January 23, 2016.

The current ‘Restore’ at 9506 Center Street will close for business on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015.

“At year’s end, many people are cleaning out closets and attics or remodeling and redecorating. We want to encourage them to donate their gently used items to the ReStore,” said Sam Druetzler, Operations Director for Habitat for Humanity in a press release. “Donating to the ReStore keeps those items out of the landfill, someone gets a good deal when they repurpose the item, and it’s all a great way to support Habitat for Humanity Prince William County.”

Habitat for Humanity Restore staff will be at the new location accepting donations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m Monday through Friday, and 9 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The Restore will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Donors who have large items too big to carry in themselves are encouraged to call 703-369-6145 or [email protected] to schedule a pickup.

The Restore on Hastings Drive in Manassas is one of two new locations Habitat for Humanity is opening. The non-profit also plans to open a Restore inside a portion of an old Food Lion store on Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge, inside Prince William Commons next to BJs Wholesale Club.
