Free event on Saturday, November 14 features mobile command, police vehicles
Prince William police will put their tools on display Saturday.
The law enforcement agency will be honored as part of a rally by the Prince William Republican Women’s Club called “We Love You Blue” from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Heritage Baptist Church at 14510 Spriggs Road in Woodbridge.
“We are very thankful here in Prince William County to have our community continue to show their support and appreciation to our department, and we look forward to having many positive citizen contacts at the event. Building and maintaining a positive relationship with our community is a priority for us and strengthens our mission and core values we set out to uphold,” said Prince Willian police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The rally is free to attend and will feature police mobile command units, patrol cars, police motorcycles, and bicycles. An assistant chief from the Prince William County Police Department will also attend the event, said Perok.
The Prince William County Sheriff’s Office will also be on hand to provide free IDs for children.
“This rally is a great opportunity for the community to show our police and law enforcement how much we value their hard work,” said Barbara Bush Republican Women’s Club President Connie Morrisey. “There will be lots of great activities for the whole family to enjoy, as well as get to know the police a little better.”
F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical will sponsor the rally. Coffee, hot dogs, and hot cider will also be made available to attendees.
“We really appreciate our law enforcement here in Prince William County,” said Prince William GOP Chairman Bill Card. “Our area is blessed to have a committed police community that serves us with distinction, professionalism and honor. Our Women’s Clubs do an outstanding job with community service – this rally will be another great event spearheaded by them.”
This is one of many events the police department is invited to attend each year. If an emergency arises and additional police resources are needed, they will be dispatched from the event, said Perok.
The Barbara Bush Republican Women’s Club sponsoring this event is one of three Republican Women’s Clubs in Prince William County. The others include the Bull Run Republican Women’s Club, the Prince William Republican Women, and the Kings Highway Republican Women’s Club.
