Rape occurred about 11:30 p.m. 

A 17-year-old girl was raped in a wooded area of  Woodbridge on Saturday.

The victim was walking in the area of Powell’s Creek Boulevard and Patrick Henry Drive, headed home, when a man walked up to her, forced her into nearby woods, and raped her.

The victim later told a friend what happened on Tuesday, and that friend took the girl to a hospital for treatment. That’s when police were called.

The rape occurred about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

The suspect in this case is described as a male, possibly Hispanic or black, 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with a medium build, medium complexion, and short medium dark hair, according to police.
