WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On October 11, a woman was arrested for driving under the influence with her 3-year-old daughter after she weaved out of the lane and struck a construction barrel. The woman’s daughter was unharmed and given to a family friend while officers connected the woman to a separate, previous hit and run crash on I-95.

Felony Child Neglect – On October 11th at 8:38PM, an Prince William County police officer was monitoring the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Elm Farm Way in Woodbridge (22192) when a vehicle was observed which had extensive damage to its side. At one point, the officer observed the vehicle leave the travel lane and strike a construction barrel. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as the accused. The officer further noted that the vehicle’s airbags had been deployed. The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested. Also inside the vehicle was a 3 year old girl identified as the daughter of the accused. Rescue personnel responded to check on the welfare of the child. No injuries were reported and the child was released to a family friend. The accused was later connected to a Virginia State Police investigation into a hit & run crash which occurred on I-95. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
