Mother Leaves 8-Month-Old in Car for 45 Minutes, say Police

DALE CITY, Va. – On October 4, police went to the area to investigate a report that an 8-month-old infant had been left in a parked car. Police spoke with the suspect, identified as the mother, and say that the infant had been left inside the car for between 40 to 45 minutes and was sent to the hospital as a safety precaution.

Reckless Endangerment of a Child – On October 4th at 5:11PM, officers responded to the 4200 block of Cheshire Station Plz in Woodbridge (22193) after receiving a report of an unattended infant in a vehicle. A caller reported to police that they observed an infant alone in a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Cheshire Station Plaza. Officers arrived and located the victim, identified as an 8month old girl, who was being evaluated by rescue personnel. Officers further questioned the accused, identified as the victim’s mother. The investigation revealed that the victim was left unattended in the vehicle for about 40 to 45 minutes. The victim was transported to an area hospital as a precaution. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
