GAINESVILLE, Va. – On August 19, a 25-year-old woman told police that after an argument, she was assaulted, thrown to the ground, and then choked by the male suspect. According to reports, there were minor injuries and the suspect was arrested.

Strangulation | Assault & Battery – On August 19th at 11:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7800 block of Ontario Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Haymarket, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim, knocking her to the ground. Once on the ground, the accused began to choke the victim. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
