Man Threatens Woman with Knife , Police Say

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On August 16, a 37-year-old woman told police that as she was walking, she was assaulted and threatened with a knife by a male friend. According to reports, the woman was able to call police once she got away and the male friend was arrested. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police:

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On August 16th 8:56PM, officers responded to the area of Bel Air Rd and Saxophone Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 37 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she was confronted by the accused, a known acquaintance. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, pulled out a knife and made stabbing motions toward the victim. The victim was able to get away from the accused and contact police. Officers arrived in the area and detained the accused without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery

Court date: pending | Bond: held WITHOUT bond
