A BB&T bank near Independent Hill on Dumfries road was robbed just before 5 p.m.
Police were called to the bank after witnesses reported a strong-armed robbery at the bank and said the robber, a thin man, grabbed cash and ran to a blue SUV. That SUV then peeled out of the parking lot of a bank toward an ACE hardware store and later into a residential area, according to initial reports.
