PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – Flames broke out in the basement of a Dale City home last night.
Firefighters were called to the 13,000 block of Pilgrims Inn Drive, near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Hoadly Road, at 9:39 p.m. after a two-story home filled with smoke. All of the occupants of the home – seven adults and one infant — made it out safely, said Prince William fire and rescue spokeswoman Kim Hylander.
Fire investigators said the origin of the fire appears to have been the basement, but the cause of the blaze remains under investigation. The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the home, said Hylander. Signs barring anyone from entering the home have been posted following damage to the unit’s water and electrical lines.
No one was injured.
