PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A motorcyclist traveling on Purcell Road crashed this afternoon and had to be flown to an area hospital with injuries.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the scene about 4:25 p.m. on two-lane Purcell Road, a rural area of Prince William County between Dale City and Independent Hill. Initial reports indicate the rider was found lying on his back.
The victim was flown by helicopter from the parking lot of Marshall Elementary School on Kahns Road.
Its unclear how seriously injured the motorcyclist is.
The crash came on a busy day for area fire and rescue crews. A fatal crash earlier this morning took the life of a tractor trailer driver traveling on Russell Road at Quantico, just of Interstate 95.
