Fire Crews Called After Car Slams into Woodbridge House

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – It’s been a busy 24 hours for fire crews in eastern Prince William County.

Just after midnight, crews were called to the 1900 block of Willow Lane in Woodbridge where a car ran into a house and one person became trapped underneath the vehicle. That person was extricated from the scene and flown to a local hospital, fire officials said.

Residents inside the house were displaced, and the Red Cross was called to assist.

About seven hours earlier, fire crews were called to a fire at a row house in Dumfries.

More in a press release from Prince William fire officials:

On Monday, February 11, at 5:01 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a middle-of-the –row townhouse located in the 1800 block of Fort Pulaski Court in the Town of Dumfries.

First-arriving units located and extinguished a working fire in a second floor bedroom. Two juveniles were transported to a medical facility for precautionary reasons. The Red

Cross assisted one adult and two juveniles that were displaced as a result of the fire.

The Dumfries police assisted with scene management.

A representative from the Dumfries Building Official’s office posted the structure as unsafe.

The preliminary damage estimate is $50,000.00.

Fire investigators from the County’s Fire Marshal’s Office classified the cause of this fire as accidental.
