Hylton’s Levenberry an Army All-American

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — E.J. Levenberry is going to San Antonio to play football for the U.S. Army.

The proud and humble senior linebacker at C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge was accepted to the Army’s All-American Bowl at a ceremony Thursday afternoon. The bowl is dubbed a premiere sporting event where 90 of the nations top high school football athletes have been invited to compete against each other Jan. 5 in front of a national TV audience on NBC.

Levenberry is an honor roll student at Hylton and has been accepted to Florida State University. Humbled, he thanked his teachers for helping him achieve this honor.

“Ms. Myers in Spanish… I’m not the best student, the brightest, or the smartest, but you put in effort into me and that is what matters,” said Levenberry.

A round of photos of the linebacker was taken as he posed with members of the U.S. Army, as well has his school friends. His coach called him a talented athlete with all of the physical stamina and mental tools to compete in San Antonio.

“This is truly a testament to Hylton High School. It’s been an honor working with E.J. for the past two seasons,” said Hylton Head Football Coach Tony Lilly. “We put a lot of emphasis on character and having character in the classroom – if we have success there we’ll have success on the field.”

Levenberry is the fourth student from Prince William County and the third from Hylton to be chosen to compete in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl since it began 12 years ago.
